The two inspired Ger to bring both disciplines together, studying product design at Central St Martins and have led to an enduring love of the craft of design, be that cars, watches, road signs, or advertising. Although an industrial designer by training, he’s a classic all-rounder: his work spans service design, product design and user-experience design across the food and beverage, healthcare, leisure, and financial services industries. He believes that in an increasingly digital world, the industrial designer’s role is to bring ideas tangibly to life.Highlights have included envisioning how people will behave in the kitchen in 2025 for IKEA; redesigning the care home experience; and ‘live prototyping’ new ways of serving draft beer for one of Australia’s biggest breweries.Ger’s work has been exhibited at Tokyo and Milan design weeks.
