As lead engineer I was responsible for designing a dual core DSP controller with all interfacing hardware, and overseeing other project engineers expected to meet strong design quality through mentoring and design reviews.Used my honed skills in statistical tolerance design to finalize concept hardware for production to improve production yields and lower warranty returns.Evaluation and implanting design improvements of a 2KW DC-DC converter to increase production yield as well as harden the control loop to improve system stability.In depth power supply experience used in design and improvements of previously release systems that used flyback converters up to 40W tuning and optimizing efficiency, High efficiency buck topologies using the LM5116, two transistors forward converters using the LM5015 and a wide range of LDOs.Design and implantation automated test platforms for board level production functional test.Mentoring of junior engineers in proper design practices, design documentation and product validation as well as worked closely with software engineers to improve calibration techniques for higher accuracy.Key achievements:• Implanting tolerance design• Safety compliance for high voltage• Generation of several technology white papers on common design hurdles

Finalizing of concept hardware of a high energy ignition controller for production release. Responsibilities include overseeing development validation testing, tolerance analysis using Orcad 16 Monte Carlo analysis to Six Sigma standards, redesign of user Boolean interface to improve functionality. Tuning of flyback power supply to active 10:1 input range (4V to 40V). High speed high current sensing for control and fault monitoring of high power outputs.

Hardware and software design for multiple mode burn in test fixture. The communications protocol was a proprietary RS485 modified to remove the dependence of a dedicated slave controller. Oversaw product validation testing, including managing of the HALT test chambers. Responsible for designing fully automated power efficiency test fixture. Improving the HALT test interface for higher reliability and long term operations. Product MTBF analysis using Relex software in accordance to Telcordia prediction standards.
