Dr. Evans is an experienced professional with a broad background in life science, research, healthcare, education, and international program development and management. For most of the past 18 years he has turned his career in the direction of international health, education, and humanitarian assistance which included developing and managing large multi-million dollar projects funded by a wide range of international donors. These include the U.S. State Department, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), U.S. Centers for Disease Control, Global Fund, European Union, U.N. High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), U.N. Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women (UNTF), UNAIDS, U.N. Development Program (UNDP), U.N. Office of Project Services (UNOPS), UNICEF, World Health Organization (WHO), Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID now DFAT), World Bank, and others. Dr. Evans has exceptional communication and leadership ability as demonstrated by his appointments to senior positions in academia, business, and international project management. He has demonstrated excellence in designing and implementing humanitarian and development projects, strategic planning, development of public-private partnerships, fund raising, and managing a portfolio of projects in demanding international settings. He has extensive experience in basic research and education with teaching experience at the undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral levels. This includes over 9 years as a scientist with the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Evans has a strong interest in international program development and non=profit management and looks forward to leveraging his experience and network to support national and community projects for vulnerable and disadvantaged youth and families.
