Manage both In-School Youth and Out-School-Youth programs. The OSY program provides GED training for youth from 17-21 years of age, The In School program is a retention program designed to keep students from dropping out of school

In my position as the Assistant Manager of Quality Assurance, I oversee all aspects of quality control in the process of collecting data for the decennial census. I supervise and office supervisor, a Regional Field Operations Supervisor and have responsibility for the work performance of approximately 300 field enumerators.I am also responsible for recruiting new employees, interviewing and hiring applicants for positions within the Scranton Local Census Office. I conduct staff training in areas such as Safety and Security, Personally Identifiable Information (PII), Title 13 Privacy Act and a host of other topics regarding new employee orientation. A large part of my duties include significant long range planning and implementing procedures to assure the achievement of goals as determined by the Department of Commerce.

My responsibilities in being the director of these areas included: supervising the managers, assisting in union contract negotiations, holding staff accountable for their performance, hiring and firing staff, enforcing company rules of conduct, writing contract proposals for the corporation, writing center operating procedures, being the Chairperson of the Center Innovations Committee, being the Chairperson of the Center IDT team which assess all applicants who request accommodations based on mental health issues, educational issues such as needing an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), or behavioral issues based on past involvement with the judicial system. Further, I was the coordinator of the Leisure Time Employment program which is an incentive program allowing students to work at part time jobs in the local area. As a Director, I oversaw the evaluation of student progress, conducted staff training, and wrote the Center Strategic Plan, compiled reports based on statistical performance and outcomes, wrote performance improvement plans. I coordinated student interventions for those who had difficulty complying with rules and regulations. I also was responsible for conducting data integrity audits, facilitating staff training, working closely with security in conducting investigations, developing and managing budgets and participating in the loss control and property management programs.

I was then promoted to a position as Supervisor of Dorm Life and Counseling which meant that I supervised all the Residential Supervisors, eight counselors and was responsible for the overall operation of all dormitories and the counseling department. I would audit and review student files and intervene with students when needed. As a Supervisor, I was able to create center operating procedures, monitor the student assessment system and offer guidance and direction to the counselors in dealing with a plethora of student related issues and concern. I was in this position for approximately four years and responsible for the overall supervision of 54 Residential Advisers, 3 Senior Residential Advisers and eight supervisors.

I was the Director of all education and training programs including the high school, GED, drivers education, vocational training, counseling, orientation and placement programs. I have 30 years of experience in the education and training field

Within 1 ½ years, I was promoted to a Residential Counseling position. At that time, the Residential Counselor had a caseload of 125 students while also serving as the immediate supervisor of all the Residential Advisers who worked with those students. In my supervisory capacity, I was involved in hiring, supervising and evaluating employee performance. As a counselor, I did initial intake interviews, assessed psycho-social concerns, made psychological referrals, arranged for special testing, provided individual and group counseling, coordinated the individual student performance measurement system and other duties as assigned. I held this position for over four years.

Initially I was hired as a Residential Adviser which means that I worked in the dorms providing supervision to a group of 72 young men. A large part of my job included providing individual and group counseling while maintaining control of the behavior in the dorm.
