-Key Responsibilities:-Responsible for department’s financial data and statistics-Monitoring of unit expenditures-Develops and recommends department operating budget and ensure the department operates within budget-Coordinates housekeeping activities with other departments-Actively communicates with administration and other hospital departments-Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and supervises functions and activities of the department-Establishes work standards and work flow-Establishes and implements policies and procedures for departmental operations-Encourages and mentors staff creativity and innovation-Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies-Proactive in the achievement of the facility goals and objectives-Demonstrates quality leadership in meeting performance plans-Reads, develops, and administers Total Quality Management process-Develops and maintains job descriptions for department staff-Encourages staff to participate in education programs

Responsibilities include but not limited to:• Direct and oversee Custodial Management staff to ensure quality housekeeping of assigned facilities.• Perform audits and inspections.• Establish areas of responsibility, and follow up to ensure that assignments are completed in accordance with procedures and instructions. Instruct new managers.• Review equipment requirements for the section, and submit requisitions to the supervisor for approval.• Supervise the disposition and destruction of classified waste, assuring that all requirements for its disposal are met.• Formulate and maintain the department within the prescribed budget. Assist with the preparation of the annual department budget.• Authorize employee time submittal, oversee overtime approval requests and assure compliance with punctuality and attendance standards.• Prepare and discuss performance approvals with personnel, as well as initiate recommendations for rate changes, reclassifications, transfers and terminations.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:• Schedule staff to ensure coverage will meet needs of organization as well as maximize productivity and efficiency. Prioritize and implement schedule for project completion. Provide staff development on new procedures and supplies. Coordinate monthly staff meeting.• Maintain all department equipment in good working order, implement new cleaning techniques and procedures.• Develop and improve cleaning operations and services, including supply products and procedures. • Daily inspection of occupied, discharge rooms, public and office areas to assure cleanliness.• Work with Operations Manager to provide input on policies and procedures for department; assessment on department morale and staff level stress. Implement plans as needed to address issues.
