I am a polymer and materials scientist, with a strong expertise in polymer physics and chemistry, as well as in management, and communication. I also have an excellent ability to pinpoint and overcome problems present in different stages of a project.Polymer science: I have 20 years experience in R&D, I built an extensive and broad experience in polymer characterization, self-assembly both in bulk and in solution, crystallization, adhesion, and synthesis. This diversified background brought me to study polymer thin films, micelles, quantum dots, polymer brushes, gold nanorods, and polymer nanoparticles. I already master all the key techniques for polymer characterization such as UV-vis spectroscopy, FT-IR, GPC, DSC, WAXS, DLS, TGA, fluorescence spectroscopy, TEM, SEM, EDX, AFM, confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM), rheology, fracture tests and NMR. In addition, I managed a multiangle light scattering apparatus and gained a deep theoretical knowledge of similar techniques (i.e., SAXS, SANS), used to study complex nanomaterials. I also showed an excellent adaptive capacity to learn and master new techniques.Management: I mentored undergraduate, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, who highly valued my guidance. I successfully initiated numerous projects that led to several publications, showing a strong ability for multitasking. My excellent interpersonal skills facilitated collaborations with several professors worldwide. Communication: I published 42 papers in high profile journals, including 8 as first author and 8 as co-corresponding author. The high quality of my work is acknowledged by the scientific community as shown by my h-index of 19 (Scopus). I am also highly skilled in presenting and teaching complex scientific concepts using simple images: I gave 17 presentations and 7 posters at national (Canadian Society for Chemistry) and international (American Chemical Society) conferences.
