Gerald has extensive experience as a leader in the non-profit community in South Africa. He has worked as a Director at Mamelani Projects, co-founded SAFEPAD South Africa, and currently serves on the board of Amandla Social Enterprises. With a Social Work background and vast experience working in diverse low-income communities, he has developed a strong foundation in developmental practices, cultural nuance, and diversity. Gerald has expertise in facilitation, grant management, leadership, capacity building, fundraising, NPO management, youth development, resilience training, and community engagement. He has also contributed to a systems change initiative to improve outcomes for transitioning youth from state care, which was recognized with the Gold Award for Social Innovations in Youth Development by the Western Cape Government, South Africa, in 2016. As a Common Purpose Global Leadership alumnus, Gerald promotes radical trust and justice through practices that drive meaningful systems change.
