I graduated from Beall High School, Frostburg, MD, June, 1962. Enlisted in USAF, August, 1962.Assigned to Aircraft Fuel Systems Mechanic School, Chanute, AFB, Ill, October, 1962, and beganschool on B-52/KC-135 fuel systems on my eighteenth birthday, October 17, 1962, just before the Cuban Crisis. I was later assigned to 1370FMS, Air Photographic and Charting Squadron. I specialized in RC-130 reconnaissance & surveillance aircraft maintenance. I was on TDY's to Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Paramaribo, Surinam, during Castro years. Our planes also flew out of Eniwetok Atoll, to map Vietnam, before B-52 bombings went out from Guam and Thailand. I served regular USAF & USAF RESERVE until August 30, 1968. After discharge, I worked forKelly-Springfield/Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. The area factory closed.I worked for Garlock industrial supply sales in Baltimore, MD, until the steel mills closed. I then got a job with the State of Maryland Department Of Public Safety and Corrections as correctional supply officer, November, 1973. I later transferred to a Maryland Mental Hygiene Administration, State Psychiatric Hospital, (Thomas B Finan Center), as a supply officer in the purchasing department. I retired in 2006. I attended Garrett College in McHenry, MD and earned an AS in social and behavioral science. I graduated with a 3.59 GPA. I also attended Shepherd University, Frostburg State University, Lord Fairfax College, and Johns Hopkins University.I will now be attending UNLV, in the human services,B.S., program. I am also an author and published poet. My poems have been published in "Fellow Traveler Book of Poetry" and "Fifty Years of Poetry", Allegany County Public Library, as contest winners. My articles and poems have been in several magazines. I was an editorial writer for Cumberland Times, and The Garrett County Republican newspapers.
