Hi! I'm a well rounded graphic designer and art director with a degree in Information Design from the University of Pretoria and 26 years' experience in the advertising industry. I am passionate about unusual creative ideas and imagery and strive to create visual concepts that communicate ideas instantly and cleverly. My skills include creative concept origination and campaign development for all marketing elements and formats from brand ID to digital and multimedia ad campaigns through-the line. I have been managing a handful of my own clients for the past 12 years. As Art Director I am experienced in directing photoshoots, briefing developers and other outsourced professionals. For the past 3 years Open Imagination has been responsible for the conceptualisation, art direction and production of retail print and digital campaigns for these brands on sale in Clicks, Dis-Chem, Foschini and Takealot.As creative director my main strengths are creative concepts and fast turnaround of digital and print material. I am skilled in creating social media campaigns. Writing creative copy is my sideline passion which I indulge in as often as possible. After leaving University I applied for and was offered a position as junior art director. Duties included: Assisting art directors in creating scamps and digital layouts of their work. Putting together presentations. Working on pitches – often 'till the wee hours of the morning. Producing my own 'pro-active' creative work - some of which was actually produced.
