As a Senior Investigation Officer at Bedok Division, I am tasked to lead the investigations into all reported criminal cases of varying offences to ensure that all criminal cases are throughly investigated through series of field operations, interviews, crime scene investigations, evidence gathering and sense making. Through such investigations, I ensure that the cases being investigated have strong foundations and are justified, so as to lead to successful prosecution outcome, to ensure that justice is served. Typical cases being handled include property, hurt, sexual, cheating and financial crimes offences During this period, I have also covered the duties of the Deputy Officer In Charge of the Investigation Squad in the absence of my supervisors.

As the Officer in Charge of the General Investigation Section (OC GIS), I am responsible for the performance of the officers under my charge to ensure that they initiate investigations and prosecution of any offences under the Customs Act and the movement of their investigation papers. I am required to provide guidance and directions into all investigations matters performed by investigation officers in the General Investigation Section. I am responsible for reviewing their investigation findings and putting up recommendations for the investigations papers to the Attorney General Chambers for the Deputy Public Prosecutors to make the decision on the investigation findings. I would also take up lead investigator roles for high profile and sensitive cases of syndicated smuggling. In less than 1.5 years in the job, I was appointed as the OC GIS due to my strong investigation capabilities.I am also required to review and draft new directives and SOPs for investigation matters relating to Special Investigation Branch and Investigations and Intelligence Division.I am also appointed as an adjunct trainer for Singapore Customs Academy for investigation related courses, such as Interview Techniques, Preparation of Investigation Papers, and certain modules of the Investigation Basic Course for new Investigation Officers.Throughout the 3 years on Special Investigation Branch, I have been awarded the Outstanding Enforcement Award and also Innovation Awards.I was selected to participate in a Counter Proliferation Investigation Training Seminar in DC/Virginia, USA in 2016
