Gerald has in excess of 20 years experience working in the geotechnical field. His qualifications have taken him to the UK, Germany, Italy, the Middle East and Southern Africa. Some of the larger projects include tunnels in the Italian Dolomites, the dams of the Lesotho Highlands project and Oman, as well as the Gautrain project in South Africa. He has also a wealth of experience gained in foundation investigations of multi storey buildings, townships, environmental and groundwater assessments, slope stability and general geotechnics. He heads up GeoZone GeoServices who specialise in Rockfall Protection Systems, Rock Engineering and Geotechnical Instrumentation. The company is the official distributor for SISGeo Geotechnical Instrumentation, based in Milan, and has worked on projects in Mozambique, Botswana, Lesotho and St Helena.
