Gerald is a highly accomplished water resources planning expert with over 25 years of international experience, specializing in water resource and hydropower infrastructure development planning, water resource system operations planning, risk-based water allocation and drought management, long-term hydrological modelling, land use and water use assessments and climate change adaptation planning. He has successfully led technical teams on diverse projects across South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, the Seychelles, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, the Philippines, and Saudi Arabia.Gerald is recognized for his role as a leading technical trainer and capacity building expert, contributing to workshops and technical courses for various public and private institutions, universities, and professional bodies across Africa. He holds key positions as a co-opted management committee member of SANCOLD and as the South African representative on ICOLD Technical Committees ‘F’ - Engineering Activities with the Planning Process for Water Resources Projects (2014-25), and ‘Y’ - Climate Change (2023-24).
