The ship was awarded the 2010 Atlantic Fleet "Battle E" as the best aircraft carrier due to this deployment. After deployment, the ship entered a major dry-docked maintenance and modernization period where significant changes to the combat and operation systems were implemented. Led the training and restructuring of the department in preparation of the follow-on ship work-up cycle and eventual deployment. During the initial portion of the work-up cycle, led and managed the complex training and certification schedule to return the ship to combat readiness after a 18 month maintenance period. Show less
