Gerald Ladner is a semi-retired-property and casualty insurance executive experienced in leading profitable growth and transformational change initiatives, building strong external partnerships and inter-company relationships. He has a well-earned reputation for driving meaningful customer engagement across industry segments to protect the personal and commercial balance sheet. Gerald has experience in serving on compliance, risk, public policy and regulatory affairs and corporate responsibility committees. He brings energy, personal gravitas, reasonableness, and good judgement in matters with political implications, and issues of public interest. In 2016 Gerald was appointed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott as a director of the State Office of Risk Management (SORM) and serves as chair of their audit committee. He was reappointed in 2022 to a 2nd six-year term. In February 2024 Governor Abbott named Ladner Chairman of the SORM Board of Directors. Gerald is also an active member of InfraGard, the FBI affiliated organization dedicated to the strengthening of national security and community resilience. From 2020 -2022 Gerald served as Vice President for Strategic Agent Partnerships and External Relations with State Auto Insurance Company. Under Gerald’s leadership as Vice President of Sales, State Auto expanded their distribution system from 6000 to over 11,000 sources of production underpinning a 2.5-billion-dollar risk portfolio. In doing so, optimized a new digital policy platform for a return on their strategic IT investment. Previously, he served as President of their Western Region providing operational leadership for both their commercial and personal lines businesses. In 2007, Gerald was appointed Zone Vice President – Middle Markets in Texas, where he successfully led a start -up that became State Auto’s second largest operation in the U.S. He expertly communicates emerging Insurance industry trends to a wide variety of audiences from the insurance and risk management community to trade groups, national and state agent associations, regulators, lawmakers, colleges, and universities. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated the highest standards of professional conduct and people leadership.Gerald has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Rollins College, located in Winter Park, Fla. where he currently serves on their Board of Trustees, Executive, Risk, Development, Audit and Education Committees. He and his wife reside in Austin, Texas and have three adult children and four grandchildren.
