As the VP of Operations, National Symposium I will be organizing and leading a team to plan Nucleate's 1st National Symposium

- During my first rotation under the guidance of Dr. David Weber, I aimed to express two proteins for NMR analysis; a retinol binding protein receptor, STRA6, and a small portion of the voltage dependent calcium ion channel, ryanodine receptor. techniques: bacterial transformations, protein production, protein purification- Under the tutelage of Dr. Richard Eckert in my second rotation, I sought to elucidate whether VGLL4, a transcription cofactor, is also a tumor suppressor while characterizing its role in squamous cell carcinoma techniques: Western Blot/analysis, spheroid assays, migration assays, cell transfection, cancer cell culture-During my final rotation, I aided Dr. Ben Portney in the lab of Dr. Michal Zalzman in understanding the interaction between ZSCAN4 and RNF20 and the role it plays in cancer progression- Project in the Eckert lab: identifying molecular targets of sulforaphane in mesothelioma and understanding the mechanism of how they function in our cancer model

Project: understanding the spheroid forming ability/mechanism in specific normal human keratinocytes, from certain individuals. These spheroid forming cells are also more susceptible to viral oncogenic transformation. techniques: primary cell culture, histology, in situ hybridization, ELISA, human cell transfection

Extensive research on the viral replication cycle of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV-1) to determine the structure of the binding unit of a viral protein, Rev, and to characterize its interaction with the Rev Response Element, (RRE) found on specific viral mRNA.techniques: gel preparation and analysis, bacterial transformations, gene sequencing preparation, bacterial cell culture, in vitro RNA synthesis, protein production, protein purification
