3rd i was formed in 2005 to provide consultancy and training services to business support organisations, education providers and SMEs. I am co-director of the business and have significant experience in training, facilitation and business development activities.The company's aim is to bring a "3rd i" to the business needs of our clients and to co-create innovative solutions for them.

I have been appointed as the Ibec nominee to the Leaving Certificate Business Development Group. Last revised in 1995, the Development Group and the consultation process will work on the revised specification for Leaving Certificate Business to be introduced in selected schools from September 2024. As someone who did "Biz Org" for Leaving Cert and has continued to work in business ever since, it’s a privilege to be working with this group on the revised syllabus.

Currently lecturing in MU on the MSc Programmes (Introduction to Sustainability in Business) & final year undergrad business (Innovation Tools & Techniques). Also leading 2 modules on the TCD Tangent Postgrad Cert in Innovation & Entrepreneurship. This programme develops career pathways for PhD students & early career academic researchersEvery year I work with MSc in Management Consultancy students in UCD on their major consulting project. Previously delivered modules to BBS distance learning students and undergraduate students on a new module examining Intercultural Competencies in a Global Workplace.In DCU: previously, delivered enterprise development modules to final year business and athletic therapy & training students. In the academic years 2011-2012, 2013-2014, 2016-17 and 2021-22 I delivered a module to the MSc students where teams of students work on a commerialisation of research project with academic researchers through a High Technology Entrepreneurship module. I also delivered a Creativity and Innovation module.In Maynooth University, I have delivered modules in marketing (final year, 2nd year Business & International Summer School), Business Landscapes (1st year Business), SME Issues (2nd year Entrepreneurship), Innovation and Project Management (Masters) and Strategy and Marketing/Business simulation (final year Business). In addition, I supervised Business Research Projects (MSc Students).For the Institute of Banking I delivered two level 8 modules in Customer Experience Management and Business Management, and one level 7 module in Customer Service Practice.

The aim of the awards is to celebrate the achievements of small business in Ireland, and to recognise the vital contribution of the small business sector to Irish industry. Each year we have the privilege of reviewing the best and brightest of Irish businesses & celebrating their achievements at our Awards Dinner.

I have worked on a number of business programmes for UCD in a full or part time capacity since 1994. I developed and delivered a range of courses at UCD, primarily in the areas of enterprise development, business analysis and strategy. I have delivered modules on behalf of UCD in Ireland, Hong Kong, Singapore and Spain. Most recently, I delivered practical Business Environment and Business Project courses, based on an analysis of a sector and an organisation, to mature business students & I work on a summer module with the MSc Management Consultancy students.
