Gerald is a director of Keen Limited which leads and manages design and engineering projects in areas such as the UK aluminium industry, UK battery technology and manufacturing, 3D visualisation and Building Information Modelling. For the past five years he has been Lead in a plan for a UK aluminium sheet supply chain, which has evolved into BACALL, the packaging and automotive industries consortium for sustainable aluminium production and ultra low carbon alloys. Through this period Keen has engaged with the UK Govt’s BEIS and DIT, and with mill operators, recyclers, equipment makers and industry leaders in the UK, USA, UAE, Italy, Greece, Holland and Germany. In 2020 the company wrote ‘Sustain Aluminium’ for the Aluminium Federation and the UK Govt. It is currently engaged in a feasibility study with its client partners and international supply chain partners.Gerald graduated from the University of Westminster (CLP) in Electronic Engineering and commenced his career in automotive electronics. He moved to the commercial real estate and construction industry, advising on PR and marketing as well as IT strategy. This included work with 3D object-oriented AEC software Reflex, considered the first true BIM, and later with Building Management Systems software for high-rise energy systems with Carillion and sustainable building systems with the Deutsche Bank-managed EEEF Fund, before the focus in Keen on metals.
