Gerald is a seasoned international relations and development professional with over 18 years of experience in Latin America and the Caribbean. He currently serves as a Special Advisor at USAID's Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean, where he supports various initiatives and partnerships to promote economic growth and development in the region, focusing specifically on the Dominican Republic and Haiti.Previously, Gerald served as Senior Advisor/Political Advisor to the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the Organization of American States in Haiti, where he oversaw over $20 million in USAID-funded projects, including community violence reduction, community-led monitoring, and private sector engagement. Gerald also co-founded and still serves on the board of Yspaniola, a non-profit organization that promotes education and community development in rural communities in the Dominican Republic. Gerald is passionate about advancing democracy, inclusion, and empowerment in the hemisphere, and he leverages his analytical, communication, and leadership skills to foster collaboration and innovation among diverse stakeholders. Gerald holds a Master's of Public Administration in International Development from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and French from Yale University.
