Our mission is not very complicated, it’s to serve those in need. Of course, more and more these days, carrying out that mission gets complicated. Today, providing our various services requires more staff, more planning, more resources and more skill than ever before. We would not be able to help those in need without the help we get from you.Grassroots operates a 33-bed emergency family shelter, and a 18-bed men’s shelter, and can house up to five families short-term in motel shelter. We provide comprehensive support services with the goal of helping each individual or family achieve a positive resolution to their shelter crisis.

We are a 24-hour resource to individuals and families in need. These are men, women and children who find themselves without a place to sleep. These are co-workers, schoolmates, friends and even family who may be contemplating suicide. These are members of the community who are experiencing a crisis and are seeking help, crisis intervention counseling, and sometimes just a roof. We are an emergency, a 24-hour phone and walk-in crisis center and an educational resource for all. We’re proud to serve Howard County and other nearby communities.
