I serve as chair of the Housing Work Group under the auspices of the Advisory Council on Aging and a member of the Executive Committee. Our role is to work with fellow members and community members with an interest in and experience with aspects of services for older adults. As Housing Work Group Chair, with the help of staff support and the service of a Vice-Chair from the community who heads an organization that finds housing for people with disabilities, we have recruited people from all over the County with expertise in some aspect of housing and homelessness.

The Senior Legislature considers proposals for changes to California and Federal laws that impact residents sixty years of age and older Senior Senators and Assembly Members; ranks them by priority; and works with appropriate elected representatives of the California Legislature and the US Congress to have as many as possible introduced and enacted in to law.

Provided legal advice to senior staff on the Laboratory, reviewed contract proposals by various programs that were scheduled for public bidding, helped resolve disputes with contractors (including representation of the Regents of the University of California- the manager of LLNL-in arbitrations and litigation before the Department of Energy Board of Contract Appeals.
