Having come from relatively humble beginnings, I’m particularly pleased to find myself in an elevated position of authority in an industry I love…..getting to do what I do best. I was always good with facts and figures and had a love of building so, it seemed a natural fit for me to find myself in the construction game. After considerable time spent on the tools gaining valuable knowledge of the practical side of the industry, I moved into the role of Estimator and was privileged to work on many interesting projects. Since I’d studied mathematics and had an instinctive understanding of figures, I was in a unique position when it came to detailing the commercial parameters of a project. My subsequent experience costing and estimating projects was of incalculable benefit when it came time for me to transition into the role of Head Estimator at one of Qld’s premier construction companies. From there, it seemed a logical transition into the role of Construction Manager and ultimately, CEO of Contrast Constructions. I regularly attend site meetings with project managers and clients in an effort to ensure the smooth flow of any given project. Following each step of development and construction - from inception to completion - I've met all challenges with tireless enthusiasm and have proved to be of inestimable value when it’s come to the successful completion of many projects. I thrive in dynamic environments, so the building industry is somewhere I feel at home. I’m justifiably proud of my reputation as a man of integrity and am known as the guy who creates solutions instead of problems for our clients. While I’m intimately acquainted with the intense responsibilities which accompany my position as CEO of a premier construction company, I revel in the role. Despite the long hours and difficult decisions, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I actively endeavour to exemplify those key dimensions of authentic leadership which I believe to be essential for success.
