I work to strengthen neighborhoods and improve quality of life throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania by working to address the housing and community development needs of our region. Working with our team at NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania allows me to assess and take action on the challenges that face our communities every day. No two days are the same, and my position sees me engage in both a regular program of managed tasks, as well as various special projects and assignments. Many of my duties allow me to work collaboratively with a variety of community partners to improve the quality of life in our region. In addition to my work duties, I enjoy working for the betterment of our community through a variety of community service and professional development activities. I currently serve as a member of both the Penn State Extension in Lackawanna County Advisory Council, as well as the Board of Directors of the Deutsch Institute. An active Rotarian, I served as President of the Rotary Club of Scranton during the 2017-2018 Rotary year, and have worked on various committees and projects for the Club and Rotary District 7410 since joining in 2010. I am a graduate of the Leadership Lackawanna Core Program Class of 2012, earning both the Class Leader of the Year Award and Shining Star of the Year Award upon graduation. I later served six years on the Board of Directors of Leadership Lackawanna, including four years as chair of the project advisory committee. I also completed the inaugural "Leadership Fundamental 2.0" class, offered by Leadership Lackawanna in early 2021. Earlier in my career, I worked to serve the public in the capacity of Community Relations Coordinator for the Lackawanna County Commissioners Office. My role allowed me to provide constituent service and conduct community outreach to address various needs in our community. I also worked in various capacities in journalism and new media for The Wilkes-Barre Publishing Company. As Online Content Specialist, I worked with a full spectrum of digital media tools to bring outstanding news coverage to readers of The Times Leader, as well as our family of weekly publications. My work in online news was preceded by time as a reporter/photographer at The Abington Journal. working in multiple capacities for a leading weekly newspaper.
