Guide for husky sledtours in the beautiful Tamokvalley in Norhtern Norway. As a guide I am responsible for greeting the guests, instructing them and guiding the one and a half hours long sledding tour through the mountains. Each tour I guide six guests, who are divided over three sleds with each sled having five dogs. Besides guiding the tours I share the responsibility of taking care of the huskies, and repairing sleds if necessary.

As a board member I am communicating between the study association and Helicon MBO, organizing and assisting with events (e.g., readings, excursions), and promoting the study association (presentations, open day).

For my internship I mainly worked on putting up gates and signs at the entrances of the 'Woldlakebos', a small patch of forest inside the nature reserve. For this project I was responsible for both the preparation (e.g. workplan, budget) and the implementation. This project was the last part of my exams to graduate for my course 'Ecology and Wildlife' and was graded a 'good'. Besides my main project I also worked on several smaller tasks, such as making inventories of Great reed-warbler (Acrocephalus arundinaceus) territories and GIS-work for a project of Staatsbosbeheer and the Province Overijssel. My internship had a good alternation between preporatory work and practical work. I was able to take a lot of responsibility and had plenty of room to make the project my own.

For my internship I worked on writing a management plan for roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) in De Achterhoek. The management plan is written as a guideline/blueprint for local population management and regards traffic safety, browse damage on new growth forest, biodiversity, prevention techniques, policy, and hunting preconditions.

My internship was mainly focused on conservation work, e.g., making an inventory for monitoring and protection of the Large copper (Lycaena dispar batava), an endangered endemic subspecies. as well as writing a management plan to conserve the Large copper.

For my internship my work was all related to nature management, e.g. felling and bucking trees, chainsaw maintenance. Trail and property maintenance, e.g. repairing, maintaining and putting up signs, fences and public rest areas. Sheep and goat management/caretaking, e.g. shifting pens, feeding, ear tagging, trimming hoofs.

Function and tasks: Assisting construction work building cowsheds, building and renovating houses, pouring concrete, carpentry and demolition work, loading and unloading trailers by forklift, sawing, cleaning and organizing the workshop.

Function and tasks: Daily care of sheep and lambs, assisting lambing sheep, socializing puppies, building jobs like making sheep pens and a chicken coup.

Function and tasks: Homeschooling kids, taking care of sheep, chickens, geese and dogs, general maintenance, collecting firewood

Function and tasks: Guiding and assisting with tree climbing park and archery course, fencing work, taking care of chickens.
