I am currently working on a £34m D+B road upgrade project in the North of Scotland with John Paul Construction as part of a joint venture with Wills Bros. The project involves the upgrade of an existing 7.5km stretch of the A9 single carriageway road to dual carriageway over a 24 month programme. My current responsibilities include management of various sub-contractors including pavement, waterproofing, formwork and rebar, crash barrier and stonework. Preparation of monthly internal cost reports and monthly valuations to the employer.

I held the position of commercial and procurement manager with BBRI on a term maintenace contract of the railway network in the Republic of Ireland for Irish Rail. The contract which is a term framework agreement involves the operation, repair and maintenance of the existing Irish Rail OTM ballast maintenance fleet. My primary responsibilities were to ensure that the weekly applications to the employer were prepared accurately and sent on time, cost reporting to Balfour Beatty parent company and management of the procurement of all sub-contractors, suppliers etc. required for the contract works and support functions. This was a temporary role which ceased at the end of 2015 and subsequently I moved across to Balfour Beatty Construction Ireland where I was involved in a few small projects at Dublin Airport circa €1m-€5m in value.

I was working as part of a team of experienced quantity surveyors dealing with main contract entitlement issues and sub-contract commercial management on the Copenhagen cityringen underground metro project for the main contractor CMT (an Italian JV comprising Salini, Technimont and Seli). The tender value of the project is €1,5 billion. My main responsibilities during my time there were the management of numerous sub-contractor accounts on a job which the works were largely sub-contracted. Packages which I managed included supply of PCC tunnel lining segments, supply of rebar to the project, Structural steel support to TBM shafts and station boxes, excavation of TBM shafts and station boxes, contaminated soil disposal, general soil transport and disposal, shuttering and steelfixing sub-contractors, TBM sub-contractor during initial set-up phase and numerous smaller sub-contracts. I was also responsible for submitting and agreeing the monthly measure to the client for the disposal of contaminated soil from the project excavations. For the last 6-7 months that I worked on the project, I moved into a position in the procurement department securing numerous sub-contractors and suppliers for the finishing works stage of the project.

Greystones Harbour Development PPP Project Project is the construction of a new harbour, marina and mixed use development. The civil and marine works contract consists of the provision of approximately 500m of breakwater construction plus associated works and 225,000 cubic metres of land reclamation. My role is Senior Surveyor with the PPP Company responsible for the entire development of which Sisk is a 50% JV partner. Budget of €250m.Responsible for the successful commercial and project delivery of the marine and civil works contract with a budget of €53m and overall project of €70m.Part of the team involved in the negotiation of the PPP Contract.Responsible for the cost planning for the entire development.

Fermoy Bypass PPP ProjectProject was a design, build, finance and operation of the 18km M8 Fermoy Bypass. Sisk was part of the Direct Route consortium which undertook the project and the Sisk works consisted of the construction of 14 under and over bridges, 4 farm underpasses and the infrastructure for the main and satellite toll plazas. Budget of €30m.Responsible for the commercial delivery of the Sisk works on the project. My role included overseeing the setting of budgets for the works, cost reporting, preparation of monthly valuations, procurement of sub-contractors and suppliers. Managing two surveyors and two site clerks who were also on site dealing with commercial matters.

N11 Ashford/Rathnew Bypass Project was a JV construction of 11km of motorway standard road construction. Budget of €120m. Surveyor for the insitu concrete bridge structures and the procurement and management of the various sub-contractors. Was subsequently given responsibility for the safety barrier package.

Bridge, Dublin Project was a JV construction of a 5 span balanced cantilever tolled motorway bridge on the M50 crossing the River Liffey with associated tie-ins and toll infrastructure upgrade. Budget of €17m.Responsible for formulating claims and dayworks, procurement and management of sub-contractors.Preparation and negotiation of monthly valuations, preparation of monthly cost reports and preparation and negotiation of the final account.

Quantity Surveyor, Ringsend WWTP, Dublin Project was a consortium design and build of a wastewater treatment works for the city of Dublin including demolition of the existing plant. Budget of €56m.Responsible for procurement of sub-contractors and large material and formwork suppliersFollowing the departure of the senior surveyor, I took responsibility for cost reporting and budgets.I also undertook the preparation and agreement of the consortium's monthly payment application with the client.

Quantity Surveyor, Dublin AreaSole surveyor with this firm. Primary contract was the demolition of the sub-structure and resultant enabling works for the old Ringsend oil fired power station. Budget of €1mResponsibilities included cost reporting, preparation of claims, variations and dayworks, preparation and agreement of monthly valuations and final accounts.I was also involved in pricing a number of tenders.
