I found it to be invaluable life experience – despite the language barrier I was able to provide an excellent contribution to my team’s project. I developed a great working relationship with my colleagues during my time. I also found the scope of my own capabilities and that I can be self dependant. I took a sabbatical year from University for the position asI felt this was a once in a lifetime opportunity.During my time in Japan I helped develop embedded code for their WebServer, integrated new technology and support into their system and designed a widget based UI menu through jQueryUI that is easily configurable.Fujitsu provided a private tutor to help my understanding of Japanese. This proved to be culturally beneficial as I was able to build upon my Japanese proficiency and communicate successfully with my colleagues and others in everyday scenarios. Show less
