Gerard Sullivan is a Electronic Engineering Professional at Olympus IMS. Colleagues describe him as "Olympus-SSA moved the Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) repair facility to Waltham, Massachusetts in 2008. Gerry Sullivan was the first employee we hired to lead that repair group. His input was instrumental in developing and implementing the 4-month project plan to ensure we met our launch date. This required the hiring and training of four additional technicians. All were sent to Orangeburg, New York for 3-months of comprehensive training and formal certification to repair industrial borescopes, fiberscopes and videoscopes. Gerry also competed month-long rigid borescope training & certification class at KeyMed Ltd, United Kingdom. Within 48 hours of this move we were operational. Outstanding project implementation.
Gerry has supervised the RVI repair work group ever since. Overseeing the repair of > 12,000 commercial and government borescopes in the past 10 years. Subject matter expert-SME; Continues critical role as final quality assurance inspector. He certified that the majority of all repairs leaving our workshop met or exceeded factory specifications.
Leadership and Management skills; Gerry’s pro-active leadership was instrumental in our ability to meet of our Robins Air Force Base government contract repair responsibilities. All borescopes were evaluated, repaired without issues. Over three consecutive years they repaired and returned each borescope in less than 15 calendar days. A remarkable achievement! Team building & excellent morale; zero employee turnover rate for >10 years. Leads highly motivated team.
Gerry, ten years ago you were instrumental in creating the best RVI repair facility in the world. Although these are my beliefs they were confirmed by Olympus Tokyo during their on-site audit of our Newton Facility. For all your efforts to make the service group successful you have my thanks and gratitude.
During my twenty years in service management with KROHNE & Olympus you are without question the most dedicated and committed service supervisor I have ever hired or had the pleasure to work with.
Best Regards,
John Mailo"
