About Gerard Longo

I am the Founder/CEO of Underground Music Collective (UMC), a Nashville-based educational and multimedia platform serving the music industry and independent creatives, everywhere. For more than a decade, UMC has impacted thousands of musicians, creatives, and industry stakeholders through multimedia content, live music experiences, and the UMC Academy artist mentorship program.In that time, I have spearheaded UMC’s collaborations with local, national, and global brands, including Universal Music Group, Red Bull, the Tennessee Titans, Creative Artists Agency, Liberty Tax, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, Helping Our Music Evolve, and Redfin Real Estate. This event is the station's largest annual fundraiser, and is a celebration of the craft beer phenomenon in our viewing area. I have outlined my role pertaining to the 2016 festival below:• Set event net revenue record in 2016, generating $34,497.27 in cash and trade from one-day festival – a $4,369.66 (14.5%) increase from 2015 ($30,127.61).• Generated $17,897.27 in cash only revenue (excluding trade) in 2016 – a 40.34% increase from 2015 ($12,752.61).• Patrons surveyed reported a 92% satisfaction rate with the event.• Served as primary point of contact with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, brewers, vendors, and staff volunteers.• Worked directly with underwriting department to negotiate trade sponsorship agreements.• Worked directly with finance department to manage all inbound and outbound cash flow.• Developed and implemented marketing strategies to ensure for a successful, well-attended event.• Delegated BrewFest-related responsibilities to PBS39 staff.In addition, I oversaw the inception and execution of PBS39's Artist of the Month contest, sponsored by The Provident Bank Foundation. This educational outreach program highlights 12 student artists of varying ages and artistic mediums annually on-air and online.I was also the Managing Editor of PBS39's local perspectives blog, Speak Up, and the chair of the organization's Fun & Fitness committee, which looks for both internal and external opportunities to continually build a positive, enjoyable work culture at PBS39.
