Gerardo Martinez is the Co-Founder and CEO of Gomex Termoplasticos, a company based in Leon (Mexico) that has been in the industry for over 20 years now and that produces Thermoplastic Rubber Compounds, mainly for the shoe industry. He has also participated as angel investor in start-ups in the following industries: amusement parks, home decoration, health, food and logistics. Gerardo graduated as an Industrial Engineer from Tec de Monterrey University and is now a member of the board of that same University at the Leon campus. He is also member of the board at Coparmex León, presiding the innovation chapter.Gerardo’s passion for languages has led him to speak fluent English, German, Italian, French, Portuguese and of course Spanish (learning Russian at this moment). Being father of a beautiful 19 year old girl and a young 26 year boy who is an autistic person, Gerardo feels grateful for having had the opportunity to learn and develop certain human skills that he wouldn’t have been able to achieve otherwise. Among other, some activities he has enjoyed include: one week parachuting training camp in France, black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do, guitar player in a rock band during high school, amateur photographer and daily meditator.Conscious that he has received many blessings, he tries to give back to society by participating as a mentor in programs like "Endeavor", "Unreasonable Mexico" and "Enlace+" and by teaching at the entrepreneur's school at Tec de Monterrey for over 10 years now. He normally mentors+5 different local entrepreneurs continously and has mentored some other +100 start ups .
