I am a Managing Principal with the Futures Strategy Group (FSG) a strategy consultancy that specializes in alternative futures (scenario) based strategic planning. FSG serves clients in corporate, government and non-profit sectors. Our clients typically are large organizations with complex challenges in operating environments characterized by rapid change and widespread uncertainty. More often than not, our work is sponsored at executive levels, with significant senior leadership involvement. The large organizations with whom we work devote considerable amounts of time and resources to these projects; but as rapid change brings increased uncertainty we have seen a marked increase in appetite for our work among a broader range of clients, for whom we have also developed smaller-scale hybrid approaches.Prior to FSG, I had an extensive career in two global advertising agencies, initially in analytics and later as a strategic planning leader addressing strategic marketing and communication challenges.
