Systems Engineering Manager supporting the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI). Responsible for network infrastructure design, installation, application testing, system ordering and installation at U.S. Navy sites in the southwestern United States.In October of 2000 EDS was named by the U.S. Navy as the winner of its five to eight year computer services contract worth up to $9 billion. At the time this was the largest computer outsourcing contract ever awarded. EDS was to build and maintain a department wide Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI). The purpose of the NMCI was to make the naval service more efficient, more productive and enhance its readiness by providing video and voice communications to link shore units and interface with the “Information Technology for the 21st Century” (IT-21) initiative and the Marine Corps Tactical Network (MCTN).
