For me, the excitement starts at the beginning of a project when working in conjunction with the creative team and listening to our account managers as to what our client’s needs are. We then take that concept and bring it to life. Following are just some of the milestones achieved in the three years I had the pleasure of heading up the committee:• Build relationships with key persons in the community• Commissioned a new web site with a payment portal on there• Created a new membership drive called Friends Of St Patrick • Encouraged committee members to use specific gmail accounts to enable hand over of information• Changed our Traffic Management supplier • Changed the route of the Parade from going down College street to going down Elizabeth street, easing some traffic problems and ensuring easier access into the park for attendees • Brought in the wearing of a green ribbon for the day• Secured funding from the Irish government• Brought in suppliers from the event industry that ensured we had a smoother transition of services• Elevated the Bachelors event• Developed and produced pre parade entertainment • I pursued and attained “Major Event Status” for the Parade and Family day • Changed the whole geography of how the park had been laid out; The main stage which was first on the list to move to the end of the park and this created a natural amphitheatre and resulted in a higher retention of visitors on the day• Getting contracts in place with suppliers so there was consistency of charges year on year• There is now a fund raising calendar for the lead up from six months outIt has been an incredible journey and one which I not only learnt so much from along the way personally but also professionally. For me it really gave me a canvas to work on with my background and experience. I got a true understanding of where a voluntary organisation hits its ceiling by it being a voluntary not for profit part time commitment.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Finding suppliers who were at that time understanding of the products we needed to deliver, laundries were always a challenge.Developing systems which ensured the business ran more smoothly.Realising at an early stage that I had an aptitude for working with fabric and dressing venues and spaces for events in various fashions and styles.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
