I work as the Clinical Pathway & Governance Lead in Tyneside Integrated Musculoskeletal Service (TIMS). I lead on the delivery and development of Clinical Governance, Quality Improvement and Service Innovation within TIMS. I take a proactive role in developing the use of technology and information systems to improve the quality, safety and efficiency of patient care.

My responsibilities includedWorking with the management team on the development of the musculoskeletal physiotherapy service. Taking a lead role in the co-ordination, development and implementation of the in-service training programme for staff within the service.Providing a highly specialist teaching input to the in-service training programme for musculoskeletal physiotherapy staff.Taking a lead role in the co-ordination, development and implementation of the clinical supervision and peer review processes for specialist and highly specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapy staff across the service.Taking a lead role in the co-ordination, development and implementation of research and clinical audit across the service.

I currently coach the under 14s team in the North East Junior League.We train 10am Saturday's and Wednesday's at 6:15pm at North Shields Rugby Club.New players always welcome.

Treetop Rugby is a rugby skills coaching company who offer curriculum coaching sessions and after school clubs to schools in Whitley Bay and North Tyneside. Our aim is to support the development of movement skills and physical activity in children. Using the principles embedded in Primary Rugby League we enable children to develop self esteem, confidence, respect and teamwork in a fun, enjoyable and development environment.We are passionate about supporting the physical development of children through movement in sport. Physical literacy is developed through motivation, confidence, knowledge and understanding of rugby key skills. Grip, carry, pass and catch, spatial awareness and communication are developed in a safe and fun environment. Sessions can be delivered using the principles of touch rugby or contact rugby depending on the child and school requirements. Sessions can be delivered as either a curriculum session during the school day or as an after school activity.Our coaching sessions are delivered by Gerard Hargreaves who is a rugby coach based in Whitley Bay. Gerard coaches at Whitley Bay Barbarians Rugby League Club and works with children age four to twelve developing movement skills through structured sessions, small sided games and play. Gerard is a Rugby Football League Level 2 Coach, has a current DBS and is registered with North Tyneside Council. Coaching is covered by TreeTopRugby’s Public Liability Insurance.

As a Senior Lecturer Practitioner I combined a clinical and academic role at both Northumbria University and Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. I developed and delivered sessions at under graduate and postgraduate level in my specialist area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy and managed a clinical caseload in Community Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. I have interests in lumbo-pelvic-hip dysfunction, pathway development and CPD structures.
