As part of the Braveheart business transformation program, I was brought in to aid the Farmlands Insights team with the architecture and design of its data platform to address the organisations ever-changing data needs. Thereby enabling the delivery of the digital vision of turning Farmlands into a data-centric organisation. Farmlands’ data footprint is very large and diverse, ranging from IoT sensors measuring soil and air moisture to more traditional business practices such as retail sales. Farmlands needed a scalable, flexible, yet value focussed data platform to deal with the ever-changing landscape of precision farming in New Zealand.

To continually improve the education system in NSW, the DoE initiated a program of work to replace their legacy on premise BI solution (very limited set of users) with a highly scalable solution that will support current and future data & analytics requirements, ultimately delivering BI to over 80,000 staff. The Azure cloud-based solution now integrates data sources including but not limited to Finance, HR, Asset Management, Survey and Community Profile data as well as Enrolment, Attendance & Student and School Performance information.

As regulators around the globe continue to refine their requirements for financial institutions, Macquarie initiated a project to improve their Liquidity reporting and stress testing capabilities. Though there is a major focus on providing regulators such as APRA with the reports they need to answer questions around the group’s Crisis Scenarios and Liquidity Coverage Ratio, the project also focusses heavily on Macquarie Treasury’s ability to monitor liquidity on a day-to-day basis.

As part of the Avanade consulting team, my main focus area is in the project delivery space. My responsibilities include tasks such as planning & estimation, solution architecture, system design & quality assurance as well as pre-sales work. As a senior member of the service line, my role also requires me to help set service line objectives to ensure future growth and expansion as well as a healthy project pipeline.

Changes in regulatory requirements brought to bear by the global financial crisis prompted Macquarie to set in place a strategic corporate data program. My role on the program was to design a scalable and flexible information management system capable of withstanding future changes in regulatory and organisational requirements, to allow the rapidly evolving Macquarie business to respond to change in days rather than months. The system currently integrates over 140 source systems from across the globe, 80 of which was integrated over only a three month period.

My tasks while working at Altis consisted of mostly project delivery work such as data modelling, technical design and a number of implementations. I was also the lead for the Altis internal Microsoft SQL server user group.

While in the employment of Altis Consulting, my role at Suncorp was to gather requirements, design and deliver a new GL Reporting & Analytics solution as part of their migration from one general ledger platform to another.

As a consultant for Altis, I worked as part of a team to design and build a planning and forecasting solution for the finance department.

Just before I migrated to Australia, I worked at Nedbank on a short-term contract as an ETL lead to help migrate their legacy ETL platform to more robust and better performing solution to meet daily processing requirements for the business banking reporting and analytics solution.

During my time as a consultant for IS Partners, I worked as a data warehouse and business intelligence developer on a number customer projects in variety of different industries, including but not limited to; retail, banking, media and telecommunication.

My responsibilities at Invesmentor included the design and development for a small travel search site.

As a developer I worked on a variety of CRM- implementation and integration projects.
