FINAL YEAR PROJECTFrom 23 March to 07 September 2015, I worked at Total S.A in Paris on the error budget analysis of underwater and surface survey systems.The objective of my final year project was to study and compare different methods of error budget estimation used by TOTAL contractors and other existing tools on the market, in order to better qualify the hydrographic data. The outcome of this work can be summarized as follows:• Improvement of the sounding position acquired by the underwater and surface survey systems. • Improvement of the error budget estimation algorithm for underwater and surface survey systems. The main added value is: - The consideration of all the couplings between the errors by the differentiation and the errors propagation of a functional MBES model. - The consideration of time-stamping error. - The consideration of couplings IMU surface /USBL, MBES/IMU (underwater) and time-stamping.• Demonstration that a yaw misalignment between the IMU (or MRU and Gyrocompass) and the MBES influences the vertical position of sounding, • Identification of the automatic calibration methods importance relative to the classical patch test method,• Clarification of the issue related to the methods of conversion from pressure to depth.The deliverables of this study are the implementation of error budget estimation algorithms on EXCEL (VBA) applied to underwater and surface survey systems and a report detailing the workflow of the study. These supports will be used by TOTAL to evaluate the technical aspects of contractor proposals, in order to better qualify acquired data and monitor the exploration-production activities. The error budget estimation and position equations algorithms for underwater and surface survey systems can be easily imported in FORTRAN, C and PYTHON in order to quickly update hydrographic data acquisition, navigation and processing softwares.

SECOND YEAR INTERNSHIPOffshore survey is a specific discipline of hydrographic survey primarily concerned with the description of the condition of the seabed and the condition of the subsea oilfield infrastructure that interacts with it. My work mainly consists to process the data for a large area hydrographic survey. I worked 12 hours per day on the hydrographic vessel in sea with a highly experienced team from various nationalities. Data acquisition was done with a Multibeam Echosounder, EM 710. My different tasks were: - Editing and filtering of multibeam data - Quality control of multibeam data based on different fieldsheets results - Preparation of backscatter resultsIt was a great experience because I improved my skills in the mangement of hydrographic survey project ( Survey preparation, Calibration,data processing and acquisition, reporting, etc).

DISCOVERY STAGEIn the summer 2009, I did an intership at the Douala Authority Port in order to familiarize with the hydrography and dredging world. My differents activities were:• Checking of dredged materials volume in the access channel of PAD by Jan de Nul• Drafting the international tender for the supply of hydrographic equipments • Multi Beam data processing of several wharfs of Port Douala Authorityusing Surfer 8 and Hysweep
