I have been working in the printing industry for more than 20 years. I am leading the production at Kroonpress AS. I am also a member of the board and a part of strategic decision-making for the company. In the past 20 years, Kroonpress has become one of the leading printing houses in the Baltics. We have increased our turnover by more than 500%. Our portfolio includes some of the biggest names in print magazines like Cosmopolitan and National Geographic. While production overall is a challenging job, printing production requires a strong foundation of technical competence and personal skills. It can take years to fully understand the nuances of the complete printing production process. On a technical level, a basic knowledge of offset printing, colour setting, and even chemistry is essential. On top of that, strong project management and planning skills are needed to be able to anticipate and mitigate any risks. It is essential to be able to lead teams and communicate effectively because no matter how technically strong you might be you cannot do everything alone. As a production manager I also need to constantly update myself with the newest practices and adapt according to the times.
Listed skills include Offset Printing, Print Management, Digital Printing, Color Management, and 17 others.
