At the department of Cell Biology of the Radboud Institute for Molecular Life Sciences I studied the coupling between morphodynamics and energy metabolism in macrophages. Phagocytosis capacity, spreading and adhesion, as well as general actin cytoskeletal morphology was assessed under different metabolic conditions. The effect of glycolysis inhibitor 2-deoxy-glucose, OXPHOS inhibitor oligomycin, or NAD-synthesis inhibitor FK866 on cell viability and morphodynamics was assessed using different molecular, cell biological, biochemical, and microscopy techniques.
