Satellic was appointed in 2014 by the three regional authorities in Belgium to collect toll on their behalf from heavy goods vehicles of over 3.5 tonnes. The choice for Satellic NV was based on its unique expertise. As a Belgian joint venture between T-Systems and Strabag, the company is the undisputed technological leader in this field, and has a vast experience with all aspects of the deployment of an intelligent road charging system. The Belgian system is live since April, 1st 2016 and is the first EETS compatible system ever in Europe (European Electronic Toll Service). Every road user concerned has to sign a contract with Satellic NV, as Satellic is currently the only active operator in Belgium levying the toll. Satellic is a Belgian company located in Diegem and works under the supervision of Viapass.
