In our team we operated with global team of partner engineers who work closely with our strategic partners and world-class engineering and product teams to define, launch, and scale Platform products at Facebook. Gergana Markova was an Advisory Engineer in Tucson, Arizona. She was a pioneer with the Storage and Software Defined Infrastructure CTO Office and leads Spectrum Protect UI (Operation Center) development exploration for new capabilities. Her focus was connecting the dots between GREAT design and actual implementation, while experimenting and driving the best of Agile and Design thinking - crafting solutions that matter and save the day for our customers. Gergana joined IBM in 2003 with a MS in Computer Science from Purdue University. Her areas of interest revolved around backup, restore, disaster recovery, object storage, agile, design thinking, university relations, customer programs and engagement, and emerging storage technology trends. Gergana co-led the IBM Women Inventors Community, acted as the IBM Project Lead for the UCLA CS130 Software Engineering class, served as the IBM Tucson Faculty Awards Representative, and shaped BETA and early feedback programs for TSM/Spectrum Protect. · Worked on an OS project. Implemented system calls and interrupt handlers (C , Spark 9.0.)· Interacted with hardware performance counter registers.· Measured the overhead components of the interrupt handler and kernel I/O latencies on several machines and wrote a technical report.
