This therefore eliminates duplication of like services, classifying like services together with a similar description thereby making searching and using the service easier. This also eliminates maverick spending of out of contract buying, thereby reducing the “spend” in the organisation.

I was the Quality Manager in the UAE (United Arab Emirates), on the GMD (General Maintenance Directorate – UAE Defence Force) project. Main roles were to look after the quality of both the data component as well as the system functionality that was to be implemented. The control of both Internal as well as External (Client) Quality assurance is paramount. Project duration 18 months – September 2005 to March 2007I have consulted for TRANSNET, helping to establish an on-site Codification Bureau at the head office in Johannesburg. .Had the line functions of a Senior Functional Specialist controlling all Material, Services and Vendor data applications. Daily functions were attending Project Meetings (both in-house as well as with the client), ad hoc meetings with the various Operating Divisions. The management of the daily production figures, as well as the allocation and production of work to the 10 QC Bureau resources (5 on site Pilog Data resources). This included the 5 Freight Rail QC off site resources, as well as the 13 Rail Engineering QC off site resources. Project Duration: 12 months (March 2007 to November 2007)I have worked in a consulting capacity, for Anglo American on the ACW Project (Anglo Content Warehouse), as the Stream Lead. This includes the management of the daily production involved in the cataloguing of the material items for the 4 business units. Daily functions include the management of the various resources on the various streams – Level 3B, 3I, 4 and OEM, as well as the external resources (Quadrem) who are the P2P partner and software developer. The chairing of the various daily/weekly meetings with the 4 business units – Anglo Platinum, Anglo Gold, Kumba, Base Metals (Chile – South America) as well as Anglo Australia. Project Duration: 12 months

The day to day running of the business. All financial, Administrative and Human resource issues were addressed by myself. The maintenance of stock levels, the control and distribution of such stock was a key aspect of the daily operational function of the company.Marketing was a vital aspect that was addressed by my partner and myself. The location of the business was not advantageous with regard client visibility. With the specials that we could offer, the design of a good pamphlet was crucial, as well as the distribution of the pamphlet. We were able to successfully maintain a good client base.I addressed the ongoing training of staff members, with regards new products and services. One has to have an all round ability to interact with the client and suppliers on a one to one basis.

1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th line maintenance on Cheetah and Mirage III fighter aircraft. The majority of the time was spent on the airframe side, involved in the building / conversion of the Mirage III to a Cheetah.
