As a Composer and Song Writer, I strive to resonate with the audience emotionally. I am a classically trained musician who has written and performed in a number of styles. I would like to have more of my Music used commercially, as this serves to bring it to a wider audience. I write both Songs and Instrumental Music. I have had several placements in Film. My Songs were used by the Bose Corporation to demo their stereo systems, including the Wave Radio and various high end Car Stereos. I have released two full length albums "This Chain" and "Two Sides to a Story".I also cowrite Kid's Music with John Hadfield, and both of our CD releases have won several Kid's Choice Awards. In 2014 I was awarded a grant by the PA Council for the Arts for a Teaching Artist Partnership (TAP) I have also received a Teaching Excellence Award from the Darlington Art Center in 2015. As a Song Writing Teacher, my goal is to help my students understand the structure of song forms, the differences between genres, how to use imagery in their writing, and how to combine lyric with melody to achieve the greatest impact. Former voice and songwriting students include James Cleare of the Spring Standards and Melissa Menago of June Divided. Singer Song Writers John Faye, Billy Penn Burger and Gina Degnars are also former voice students. I draw on both my work in the Dalcroze Method at the Juilliard School and my experience as a professional musician to help my students to achieve their goals. I teach my students to sight read as well as how to read charts. I also teach them theory, with an emphasis on structure. The Dalcroze method emphasizes Ears, Kinesthesia, Eyes as the three doors into the brain. I assess which of these doors is strongest in each student and teach through their strongest "door" for optimal progress, while striving to improve the other aspects of musicianship through their other doors.Specialties: Vocalist, Pianist, Guitarist, Composer, Song WriterJazz Vocalist with Brandywine Jazz.
