Head Of Cyber Security & Technical Architecture At An Garda Síochána
CurrentAs Head of Cyber Security and Technical Architecture, I am responsible for establishing and enforcing Cyber Security and Enterprise Architecture policies and standards across a diverse portfolio of over 200 applications, supporting 18,000 users. In my role, I led the infrastructure, development, and security management of the NVDF and Online Motor Tax systems encompassing over 1 billion in annual motor tax revenue and management of the driver, vehicle and penalty point databases, ensuring robust IT infrastructure and systems across multiple datacentres as well as the National motor tax network of offices. I represented the Department at cross Government forums in relation to Eircodes, Insurance IMID, MyGov.ie, Public Services Card and wider Government Digital Strategies. My focus on continuous improvement emphasised service quality and risk management across a complex multi-vendor environment. I leveraged modern engineering and DevOps principles to meet departmental goals and managed cybersecurity governance to uphold compliance, including PCI standards for the Online Motor Tax systems.
