About German Castillo
My first 6 years in the Air Force were spent honing my skills as an avionics specialist on the KC-135 Aerial Refueling Tanker. I finished my time on the flight-line as the lead technician for the Radio Communication/Navigation shop. I then spent the next five years as a Master Instructor teaching advanced troubleshooting, running a multitude of programs, finishing my time in the school house as an Instructor Supervisor and Flight Chief. I was then recruited to lead a Standardization and Evaluation office overseeing all policies and evaluation of 45 instructors as well as auditor of all programs. This position lasted four years where my labor was captured in the organization earning three annual Outstanding and one Excellent rating from Higher Headquarters. From September 2015 thru May 2019, I was entrusted as a Production Superintendent, orchestrating all aircraft maintenance actions across 10 specialized shops securing mission capable aircraft in defense of the United States of America. In June 2019 I was recruited to the Inspector Generals (IG) office in the position of Wing Exercise Planner for the 18th Wing, Kadena AB, Okinawa Japan. In June of 2020 I was appointed as Inspections Superintendent for the IG office and in August of 2022 I transitioned to retirement status, a great finish to 24 honorable years of service. In February 2023 thru June 2023 I was employed by Tidal Aviation in Conroe, Texas as an Aircraft Technician on Cirrus aircraft and left due to personal reasons. I am currently looking to find the right fit to continue my second career in civilian life!
