Project Engineer
CurrentResponsible for the Chemical Process Engineering of a new project (CAPEX), from budget estimation through design phases, construction, commissioning to hand-over. Ensure that all chemical process design, installation and costs are appropriate, including:• The chemical production equipment;• All utilities required by the process;• The personnel accessibility and available space consistent with site EHS;• The material flows and material handling;• The compliance with local and company regulations;• The maintenance of documentation; • The rooms and area classificationEnsure that Chemical Process Engineering issues are addressed through all phases of the project life cycle.Ensure that Instrumentation Engineering is adequate with Chemical processes and its environment.Ensure a formal training of all relevant and involved persons.Develop documents and Business Case for secondary projects associated with CAPEX projects.Collaborate with the engineering and production department to mitigate negative impacts during the implementation of equipment and infrastructure works.Make purchase requests and manage payments to suppliers through the resource management processes (SAP).Maintain direct and regular contact with project stakeholders (internal and external customers and suppliers) to communicate project progress, risks and opportunities.Keep updated month by month the cost line of the projects in charge. Perform cost projections and collaborate with project management in cost deviation calculations.Lead multidisciplinary meetings to review the safety of the processes (HAZOP) of the projects in charge as well, as lead the processes (IQ) for the delivery of the finished chemical systems.Lead the bidding and procurement processes for equipment and services associated with the projects in charge, as well as being responsible for the technical and economic evaluations of the suppliers for the selection and award of the purchase packages.
