I was a legislative intern for PA State Representative Kevin Shreiber. Representative Shreiber sat on the Appropriations, Education, Environmental Resources & Energy, Local Government, and Tourism & Recreational Development committees. Education and keeping small communities competitive were his top priorities. As an intern in his office I liaised with constituents and vendors, performed basic office duties, prepared posters for rallies and attended press hearings. I loved keeping abreast of current political issues and seeing government in action on a local and state level.

Karen Stabley is a gifted and passionate art therapist who has been practicing for over 20 years. Her expertise is quickly exposing underlying issues and uncovering what hinders joy and happiness. Karen also teaches art therapy at York College of Pennsylvania and is the Co-Editor of Art & Art Therapy for All Things Healing, an online healing community. When I was interning for Karen, I helped to construct and assemble therapeutic materials and tools such as Serenity Jars & Calming Clay. I also helped to break down product costs and to video tape tutorials.

Crispus Attucks (CA) is York County’s leading African American community center serving a population of more than 30,000 black people. At CA, I worked for Mrs. Jacqueline Martino-Miller, the CEO for Crispus Attucks Charter School, who is affectionately known as "Ms. Jacquie." Ms. Jacquie taught me how to demand a high standard, but treat all with kindness and respect. As her assistant, I handled a wide variety of requests and projects, collated medical & academic files for the students, and assisted the day campers as needed. A month after I left CA, I developed a very successful quarterly perfect attendance raffle with prizes and gift certificates (contributed from local individuals and companies) to incentivize students to come to school. For my program which dramatically increased the number of students with perfect attendance, I was awarded the "Youth Inspiration Award."
