Internship thesis topic: Molecular markers for differentiation between Ascaris spp. from humans and pigs and from different geographical origins.Experiences: Microsatellite marker analysis (similar to MLVA), DNA isolation, ELISA, (Real time) PCR, capillary electrophoresis, gel electrophoresis, sequencing.

Experiences: macroscopic, microscopic and molecular identification of bacteria, parasites, viruses and fungi from sputum, urine, stool and blood samples. I cultured bacteria, made microscopic stains and performed tests to indicate infections like malaria, roundworm, tuberculosis etc.. I had to show results in reports and discuss them with the doctors. Furthermore, I performed validation of diagnostic tests.After a well performed internship, I was asked to continue working as temporary staff member during the summer.

Several part-time jobs beside my studies, e.g. sales employee at Hans Anders opticians, administrative assistant at furniture wholesale Flevolicht en Wonen, cleaner at nursing home de Wijngaard and sales assistant at Plus supermarket.
