I worked with an international team to accomplish robust mechanical designs for the lean, on-time manufacturing of Petcube's award winning product line. From the first napkin sketch to last product shipped, I worked hands-on with the team to deliver reliable and delightful products.

• Performed Industrial, Mechanical, and Electrical Design in the Renewables Industry• Designed a new electrical generator assembly for manufacture. Worked from a theoretical design provided by a separate outside contractor to a manufacturable design. New design was cheaper to produce, faster to assemble, used significantly less magnets, self-aligning during assembly, more rugged, and a drop-in replacement for previous expensive motor design.• Inspected and improved paint and coating process to reduce field failures in high humidity and salt environments. • As part of Lean and Kaizen efforts, inspected, reviewed, and checked part and process on assembly line. Reworked entire drawing set for key mechanical components of current product. • Trained engineering team on new software, maintained team data, enforced better documentation processes, and communicated engineering team goals to C team.

• Performed Industrial, Mechanical, and Electrical Design in the Chemical Industry.• Headed over ten projects from concept to delivery. All equipment needed to survive extremely harsh environment (high electrical noise, used by unskilled labor, silver dust in air). • Designed two completely new methods of testing reactor tubes. Both concepts proven working.• Lead a project to completely revamp aging equipment with modern electronics and more durable materials. Downtime on jobs due to equipment failure reduced significantly as a direct result of my efforts.• Brought rapid prototyping techniques to engineering team and significantly shortened development cycles and cost.• Traveled to remote job locations. Acted as both a test engineer and crew supervisor. Managed and trained day crews of up to 40 people who did not always share a language to use sophisticated equipment in a dangerous environment to finish large test jobs.• Have never sustained an injury or received a safety citation on any job.

• Performed the Industrial design for a commercial cannabis smoke detector. Created rapid prototypes for investor presentations on personal 3D printer.• Designed a ready for manufacture housing for a house arrest ankle bracelet. The bracelet could be unlocked with a key, but was otherwise unmodifiable by the user.

Wrote technical blog posts on a commissioned basis for a popular website (100,000+ unique visits a day)

• Worked as part of a two-person team to develop a house arrest ankle bracelet that could detect whether a user was driving.• Designed the housing for the test device. Prototyped it on personal CNC machine and cast the banding from urethane rubber.• Wrote all the datalogging and analysis scripts.

Researched implementing topography algorithms for the active visualization of metal casting by use of a sensor network linked together by a Field Programmable Gate Array. Used C and Verilog to program FPGA and performed low level network programming.
