About Gerry Altmann

Professionally, I'm interested in how the structures and functioning of the brain enable it to understand language and, more broadly, the things that happen in the world around it. Related to my editorial work, I developed TagNotate, the only software on iPad or OS X that allows you to both annotate PDFs and, crucially, tag those annotations so that you can then select one or more tags and collect together all the annotations across all your documents that share that tag (www.tagnotate.com). In the past I have been in charge of the Experimental Psychology Society (UK), and been Editor-in-Chief of the journal Cognition, and served on numerous grant panels, including NIH, NSF (both USA), and ESRC (UK).
