Responsible for the emergency operational capability function of the Wellington City Council.Combining relationship management expertise alongside strategic stakeholder engagement I streamlined asset management and maintenance processes, identifying areas for future-proof planning that utilize increased geospatial capability.Instigated and managed the GIS4EM group to ensure technical interoperability at the emergency operations centre through thorough facility maintenance and regular testing. I worked between GIS technical experts and the end users closely defining training and capability requirements.I informed and supported the facilitation of all emergency staff training and successfully completed the recruitment and training process for seven newly professionalized emergency Controllers.I instigated the build of an active directory to improve the efficacy of our emergency SMS alert system.Management of the WCC through National Shake Out events.

A fixed term contract, I was sought out to design, develop and manage the Emergency Welfare Programme.I was the digital project manager for the WCC Welfare Needs Assessment App project, managing through design, development, user testing, training and delivery alongside and in support of technical expert Jono Moore.I developed robust relationships with senior business unit managers, key stakeholders and staff whilst managing process design through to delivery, active management and handover.I created three Welfare team lead roles and enjoyed providing leadership opportunities in support of positive career growth for Welfare staff, removing barriers and providing a safe environment for collaboration, co-design and individualized growth.
