As Financial Controller of Irelands’ largest Arts Festival I am completely responsible for the finance function of the organisation. During my time with the Festival the organisations’ activities have expanded significantly to include the production and touring of the Festivals own shows outside of the Festival period. My responsibilities include:  preparation of detailed budgets for the festival and monitoring actual expenditure to budget supervision of the festivals box office function  preparation and monitoring of financial projections for festival touring productions preparation of quarterly accounts and presentation to festival board work on strategic review of the festival and its development preparation of annual financial statements and liaison with external auditors managing the festivals cash flow and liaising with our bank  preparation of submissions for government funding management of accounts payable and accounts receivable function management of the festivals IT function

In my role as Systems Accountant I had both systems related and financial accounting responsibilities including: - SAP implementation - I acted as the Finance representative on an inter departmental project team tasked with implementing SAP across the Galway site. I was also the Galway finance representative on a worldwide finance SAP team. I was required to ensure all finance department concerns were addressed in the system design and to carry out related system testing. Post SAP implementation I worked with the Customer service department to resolve finance related issues - preparation and submission to Nortel HQ of monthly accounts on both SAP and Oracle financials - Ad hoc systems related work e.g. assisting finance department members with systems issues as they arose and liaising with Nortel technical support in the UK in their resolution.

As Management Accountant my role encompassed a wide range of responsibilities including: - preparation of monthly management accounts and quarterly financial information for submission to the stock exchange - preparation of annual departmental budgets - management of accounts payable function including supervision of seven staff members - preparation of corporation tax computations and forecasts for a number of companies - management of the company’s foreign currency exposure I was involved in preparation of detailed financial information for inclusion in the company’s prospectus for flotation on the New York and Dublin stock exchange in May 1997. I participated in an investor roadshow, co-presenting with the Ryanair Chief Executive, the company’s results and plans to current and future investors across Europe. I was also a member of the implementation team for a new accounting package (SAP).
