The Irish Concrete Federation (ICF) is the national representative body for the Irish aggregates and concrete products industry. I am responsible for developing, leading and managing the federation's activities to meet the strategic objectives of the organisation. Key activities include the representation of industry to public and private stakeholder bodies and the provision of a comprehensive service offering to the corporate members. Activities are focused on communications, public affairs and advisory services in the areas of the environment, transport, health and safety, product standards and product promotion.

My primary role was the representation to public bodies of key sectors within Ireland's industrial manufacturing industry, particularly in the building materials and plastics manufacturing sectors. This role also included the delivery of services to Ibec members in these sectors and the development of training initiatives to promote skills development with industry.

My responsibilities in this role included the representation of the Irish food manufacturing sector to regulatory authorities, the media and policy makers in Europe and Ireland and the provision of an intensive information and advisory service to member companies.
